The Gospel

You are part of an incredible story. This story begins and ends with God. It’s a story of His great love for you. It’s a story of what He sacrificed so that he could have a relationship with you.

This story is called the Bible. We believe that the Bible is God’s love letter to us, inspired by His Spirit; completely true, whole, and useful for teaching, reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16). It’s the story of how much God loves us.

In Genesis 3 the story begins with how man and woman, made in God’s image, turned away from Him when tempted by Satan and made a choice to disobey God. This single act of disobedience forever changed the course of mankind. It brought the curse that we all will one day die and face judgment for our sins. It brought pain, fear, and the deep longing inside that cannot be filled except by the Rescuer. Romans 3:23 states that all people, from the beginning of history, have sinned and continue to fall short of God’s glorious standard. The penalty for this continual shortcoming is death, followed by eternity away from the presence of a loving God in hell. But there is hope yet!

Jesus Christ

The good news of the gospel is that God sent the Rescuer to save us from the curse of the fall! The Rescuer, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to save us! He was miraculously born of a virgin, lived a perfect life without sin, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, raised the dead, and ultimately gave up his life for mankind so as to rescue us from the punishment required for our sins. Jesus was crucified. On the cross He took the sins of the world upon himself and willingly became the sacrifice required for the forgiveness of our sins. Because of His great love for us, He died in our place! But that wasn’t the end. Miraculously, three days later, Jesus rose from the grave, overcoming death and defeating the power of Satan once and for all! Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have been freed from the power of sin and the curse of death.

This free gift of salvation, the deliverance from sin and its eternal consequences, is available to anyone who chooses to believe. Jesus calls us to repent of our sins, accept him as our Rescuer, and to follow Him. Romans 10:9 says that if you by faith confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. God loves us more than we can begin to imagine. The Bible says, “for God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

God is waiting for you. He loves you. He came and died for you. If you haven’t made the decision to accept Jesus as the Lord of your life and to step into the amazing adventure that is an intimate relationship with God and you’d like to, why not now? Surrender your heart to Jesus. Pray and ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart. He wants to save you! All you have to do is accept Him.
